It might not be the flood from 1983, but last week’s flood in Salt Lake City was devastating for some homes, especially in the Sugar House area. With over two inches of rain in less than one hour in some locations, it was enough for Salt Lake City Mayor, Jackie Biskupski, to issue a “Proclamation Declaring a Local Emergency.”
It was a hectic week for us at Affordable Carpet Cleaning with helping homes and businesses with their water removal and getting their places restored again.
Some of you may have noticed Ryan from Affordable Carpet Cleaning on KSL News last Wednesday.
Many homes and businesses were able to recover, however, some places like the public library’s Sprague Branch were not so fortunate. This popular Sugar House library is temporarily closed for repairs and is estimated to be closed for several months. Everything from children’s books to computers to the walls themselves were damaged by the water. The City Library is encouraging people to share your photos and memories of the Sprague Branch on social media using the hashtag #MySprague to show how much this library means to you.
